While searching the net for information on whatever is eating the spruce needles here on my acreage in northern Saskatchewan, I came across this story. It turned my frustration into a smile even though I still don’t know what those wretched worms are for sure. Thanks for making my day brighter

Since I have a huge diversity of plants on my two organically managed acres, mostly native (or even indigenous), there are plenty of other venues for the so-called pests; but also plenty of habitat for their natural predators.
I would be interested to know what ill-effects all those chemicals had on the animals and the humans involved.
This story is funny for some, but serious for those of us who live with bug killers. My husband combats all kinds of garden bugs every year. The big green tomato worm is his nemesis in the summer. He actually got very upset with me for almost throwing away Gold Bond container this year because it was what he used to sprinkle the tomato plants. My thought was we could use another next year. My son especially hates garden season because he also has to have help with the attack on the worms. It has become a yearly family project. We do not know what to do about the deer that eat our corn though. You can not exactly sprinkle them with insecticide.
