This story is so beautiful and sad—sad not so much because of the activity itself (constantly spraying, spraying, spraying & squishing) but because this is how life is. We take on these projects and then let them take over us. I can’t sleep because I’m thinking of the insulation I need to install over the garage, or the dry rot under the bathroom floor, or the thing I need to finish at work—it’s sad, as you show; but there’s also a beauty in it, as you show, too.

This is so good. My favorite line: “Mom says, let’s talk about something other than the bagworms tonight.”

Squirting a little flammable liquid on the bag and setting it ablaze would be a less toxic way of approaching the problem. It also appeals to the little boy in men who like to watch things burn, especially nasty caterpillars.

Very good. I wish I was this advanced in my writing skills. Something cool is that Kelli this guy’s sister in-law is married to my brother. Funny.

A good natural repellent is rosemary. Plant them around the trees, and you can collect the trimmings for a nice herb crusted chicken. Well written story, enjoy the reading.

We have had lots of trouble with Bagworms here in the Texas Hill Country. We used to use permethrin, but a neighbor said be had great luck burring them on his ranch, and that is how we control them. Nice article.
I think Shannon sent me this story because my first punk band was named BAGWORM. This is too perfect…we were like an infection that wouldn’t go away.
