Wendell Berry has been the voice of environmentalists and people who love the land for so many years. His words bring me back to Kentucky and back to the basic essentials that matter. Kudos to ATL for offering this opportunity to hear his poetry spoken aloud in a publc venue.

Sounds like it works, I look forward to an opportunity to see this play that uses language and images from the work of Wendell Berry.  I have appreciated his work for decades and strongly believe this country can build upon his achievements and become a more livable, resilient and joyful place.  Thanks for the review.

As I step from the door into today’s morning light, I believe I’ll dance my way to the gardens and apiary that await chores for the day. Thanks once again to Wendall Berry for inspiration and to ATL, Eric Reece and all who celebrate his work.

Thank you, once again, Eric,—and Orion—for opening a window here!  I am writing from Shaker Village at a conference on education for gifted learners in Kentucky, and this look into Berry’s message is nourishing! Thank you!

As the French novelist and writer, Joubert, stated: “You will find poetry nowhere unless you take it with you.”  I believe Wendell’s works provide anyone seeking to find the poetry within themself an opportunity to personally connect with the Earth and all those things wild upon her. By listening to our own selves and the wild within us, we can envision the future only in community and that is where the role of solitude enables and enagages us with our interconnectedness and invites us to reach out to revere all of life in its myriad forms.  Sigh, I too would like to be outside more to experience my own rythmns synch with the rest of the world. Yet as long as I cherish the wild in each moment, I can always allow Berry’s poetry to serve as my lodestone for traveling the path.

OK, I’m coming back after three year’s without Orion in my life or mailbox. After reading Eric Reece’s piece on Wendell Berry’s poetry, I sprang for a three-year print subscription. In a time of grim economic news, in the midst of a global recession, I need the lyricism, truth-telling and range of Orion’s voices. I am doing my best, as Berry admonishes, to “live a three dimensioned life.” I want Orion in it.

Given Erik’s last article in Orion, I still say this one should’ve been called “Hell, Yeah I Saw the Wendell Berry Play”...

Beautifully, poetically written.  I want to see the stage production and plan to read more Wendell Berry.  Thank you!
