Orion Film Screening

Orion co-sponsored (with the Berkshire International Film Festival) a free screening of the German film We Feed the World on Sunday, January 5 at the
Triplex Theatre here in Great Barrington. We had a full house! Executive Editor Hal Clifford introduced Orion magazine and the Orion Grassroots Network to the audience, and led an audience discussion afterward. The documentary, produced in 2005, provides a sobering and disturbing European perspective on the implications of agricultural globalization. It is a great entry point for a discussion about how traditional environmentalism now intersects with issues of justice, the economy, democracy, civil society, sustainability, and so on.
