Funny by Nature: Orion in Portland, Oregon

Please join Orion Thursday, September 6, at 6 p.m. to celebrate the launch of Orion‘s September/October issue at Ecotrust’s Natural Capital Center in Portland, Oregon, for Funny by Nature, a conversation with Orion Editor-in-Chief H. Emerson Blake and Portland writers Cheryl Strayed and Brian Doyle. They’ll talk about nature, hawks, boots, mud, poison ivy, snickering, drool, and why environmentalism should be funnier.

This event is free and open to all. No RSVP is required, but check out the event on Facebook, or e-mail us with any questions.

Cheryl Strayed is the best-selling author of Wild and served on the 2012 Orion Book Award selection committee. Brian Doyle is author, most recently, of the novella Cat’s Foot, and is a regular contributor to Orion; his latest blog contribution is “Hoist.”

Funny by Nature is one of several events Orion is hosting around the country to celebrate its thirtieth anniversary. For information on other anniversary gatherings, visit orionmagazine.org/30.
