Place Where You Live:

Paraiso, Tabasco, Mexico

Paraiso, Tabasco, Mexico

Paraiso, Tabasco, does it sound familiar? Maybe not and that’s completely normal considering this is just a small town on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, a town I’m proud to call home. I’ve spent my whole life living in this town; maybe not a lot of people know about this beautiful place but they probably should, it has beautiful landscapes and a very large diversity of plants and animals. No matter if we’re in the middle of winter you can still go to the beach or take a boat tour on the river because over there it always feels like summer.
When I was a little girl I never really appreciated what this town had to offer, the only thing I wanted was to get out of there and travel around the world but as I grew up my love towards this place grew along with me, I learned to love its culture and its people. Now I’m sixteen years old and I’ve been living in a different country for over a year but there’s not one day that goes by when I don’t miss my home, the town that watched me grow up and become who I am now.

Although I love this town that doesn’t mean it’s perfect, you’ve probably heard about all the corruption and delinquency that has been going on in Mexico. Even though I consider Paraiso a safe place people all around the country live in constant fear. My biggest hope is that one day things will get better, it’s not going to be an easy task but if there’s more people who think and feel the same way I do I believe we can make a difference and help make of Paraiso and the rest of the country a better place.

No matter how many years go by or how many things change, there’s one thing I’m sure of, Paraiso will always be my home because that’s the place that saw me grow up and become who I am. Paraiso will always have a place in my heart.
