Orion Magazine Presents: Omar El Akkad & Carl Safina in Conversation

September 27, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EDT

(A Zoom link will be sent to registrants the day before the event.)

Orion Magazine, W.W. Norton, the Safina Center, and the Economic Hardship Reporting Project celebrate the launch of Orion‘s autumn issue, “Seeking Shelter – The Environments of the Unhoused and Displaced.”

Omar El Akkad and Carl Safina, whose essays are featured in the latest issue, will be in conversation about how climate change, human development, and other forces are contributing to the displacement of both human and more-than-human communities around the globe. Moderating the conversation will be Orion‘s editor-in-chief, Sumanth Prabhakar.
