Place Where You Live:

Portland, Oregon

My special experience in Portland:the place where I live

Portland has always given me surprises. The warmth of the people, all the places to see and my home together form my life in Portland. I joined a private accommodation when I entered Portland and it was all together a different experience. Though it was difficult to adapt to the very difficult situation at first. I started enjoying it since the day I went out to experience the natural and lively environment of Portland. My most memorable experience so far was definitely the surprise trip to Mount Hood. It was the first time I saw snow and this marked my very first memory with snow that created in me utmost fascination and joy. I also hope to visit the Oregon zoo, rose garden and Seattle soon. I believe that I have so much to see and hope to explore them all during my college days. Skydiving, skiing and hiking are adventurous activities that I want to explore one day. I already have visited Salt and Straw, voodoo doughnuts and the Multnomah falls once that contribute to the identity of Portland.

I hope I get multiple opportunities in future to explore and enjoy the terrain and scenic beauty of Portland and its residents. I am waiting for a day when I would get to visit the painted hills, the Oregon coast and the cannon beach. I live in downtown Portland which is the heart of the city, well connected internally and with neighboring places via the Trimet and the street car. I live in a small community housing that is meant for college students. It is a small room and the best spot of the room is the study space which has a white study light. My main necessity was to have a place where I could study peacefully and this place does satisfy this requirement. I feel that this first experience of mine away from my parents in a far off country has helped me extend my cultural acceptance for people and welcome the vast diversity with open hands.
