Her novel, Duck and Cover, was a New York Times Notable Book of the Year. Her most recent books are Wolf Nation: The Life, Death, and Return of Wild American Wolves, chosen as a “Best Conservation Book of the Year” by Forbes magazine; her children’s books include Wild Orca, Lobos, Catastrophe by the Sea, and the new illustrated digital book Crane Maiden.
